VANESSA CHEUNG

Vanessa graduated with honours from the University of Sydney in 2009 with a Bachelor of
Physiotherapy. Since this time, she has worked in various private practices as well as in the hospital setting in both Sydney and Melbourne. Vanessa developed a passion for treating hand and upper limb conditions and has been working as a specialist Hand Therapist for the past 10 years. She became a Certified Hand Therapist (USA) in 2016 and an Accredited Hand Therapist in 2017, as awarded by the Australian Hand Therapy Association.

Prior to commencing with the PMPP team, Vanessa worked as the Senior Hand Therapist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, where she gained extensive experience in treating complex acute traumatic upper limb injuries. Vanessa is highly skilled in thermoplastic splinting to help manage a variety of hand and upper limb conditions including sports injuries, fractures, arthritis, tendonitis, post-operative and pregnancy-related hand conditions.

Vanessa has also completed clinical pilates training, is certified in dry needling of the upper limb and is experienced in wound and scar management.

As a previous national elite gymnast and trampolinist, Vanessa continues to be passionate about health and fitness, is a keen gym goer and self-confessed foodie. Vanessa also enjoys being a Mum to her daughter Isabelle.
