At Port Melbourne Physiotherapy and Pilates, we offer specialised Hand Therapy to treat a wide range of hand and upper limb conditions.
Kate Wharton is our qualified Hand Therapist. She graduated from La Trobe University in 2012, with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy and has specialised skills in the field of Hand Therapy. She is passionate about treating hand, wrist and upper limb conditions, particularly traumatic and sports injuries.
Kate can create custom thermoplastic splints in the clinic to help manage a range of hand and upper limb conditions.
Kate can assess, treat and create management plans for the following conditions:
- Finger fractures and dislocations
- Sports injuries
- Mallet finger
- Trigger finger
- Wrist pain
- De Quervains tenosynovitis
- Tennis elbow
- Osteoarthritis
- Carpal tunnel syndrome
- Post-operative conditions e.g. tendon repairs, ORIFs, Dupytrens
- Scar management
